幼稚園から中学校までの連携した教育を推進している学校教育では、個性を生かす教育や勤労体験、地域文化に対する理解を深め、情報・国際化に対応した総合的な学習を進めています。 　生涯学習については、多様化する住民ニーズを的確に把握し、住民の生涯にわたる学習活動を支援するため、支援体制の強化に努めています。また、文化財や伝統行事などの保存・継承に努めるとともに、姉妹都市・オーストラリアのバララット市との国際交流を積極的に行っています。 　また、地域・学校・行政が一体となり、人権啓発・人権教育を推進しています。

In the area of school education, efforts are being undertaken to cultivate an education system geared towards nurturing individuality, programs that offer learning through work experience, and greater understanding of local culture. The town is also promoting lifelong learning programs that support lifelong learning activities undertaken by residents, international exchanges with our sister city, the Australian city of Ballarat, and a campaign carried out by the community, schools, and the municipal administration to enlighten and educate residents about human rights.
